01How it works

On the Toscana manual retractable pergola, the fabric roof rests on a frame of aluminium profiles with stainless steel fittings. You open and close the fabric by hand, so at midday you close the roof and sit in the shade. Then, in the cool of the evening, you gather the fabric back and return to an open sky.
The roof fabric is PVC-based, waterproof, flame-retardant and durable. In addition, its wave-pleated look gives Toscana the feel of a classic awning. This way the system looks at home in a modern garden as well as in a café by the sea.
Installation is also straightforward. If you like, you choose the fabric colour from options such as cream, grey or beige to suit your terrace and furniture.

Does the Toscana manual retractable pergola keep the rain out?
Toscana's PVC fabric is waterproof. Therefore, with the fabric roof closed, it shelters the seating area underneath from rain. However, where the water runs off depends on the ground and the installation site, so the survey also checks the ground and drainage. In addition, our technical team confirms in writing the limits for use in wind and rain for your project.
What is the difference between Toscana and Elegant?
Both are fabric roof pergolas, but you operate them differently. You open and close Toscana by hand, and it offers a simple awning solution. Elegant, however, runs on a motor with remote control. It also mounts on a wall or stands free and offers LED options. At the survey we decide together which one fits your use and budget.
Can I use Toscana in winter?
Toscana is a pergola awning designed mainly for sun shade, but its waterproof fabric also gives cover in rain. However, our technical team confirms in writing the limits for use in snow and wind at your location. If you want to use the terrace closed in winter too, look at bioclimatic pergolas with glass panel and heater options.
