Louvered or fabric roof: which is better for a pool pergola?
Both work well by a pool; the difference is how you use the space. A louvered pergola turns its louvers with the sun. When closed it forms a roof against rain, and when open it lets air through. A retractable fabric roof, however, folds back along its rails to open the sky. So we help you decide based on size, wind direction and the hours you spend outside.
Do louvered pool pergolas leak?
Closed louvers form a sheltered roof against rain. Water collects in channels along the louvers and then drains through the posts, and SkyLounge also has built-in rainwater downspouts. Around a pool, where that water goes matters. So we plan the drain point with you, together with the ground and the drainage. With correct installation and regular care, your seating stays dry.
How can I add privacy and block wind by the pool?
Add i-Zip Screen zip screens between the posts of your pool pergola. The fabric edges run in side tracks with a zip, so the screen stays taut. They protect against sun, wind, rain and bugs, and they also block the view from next door. The motor box stays hidden, and a remote lowers the screen. Several fabric colors are available.
Can I use my pool pergola on cool evenings?
Yes. LED lighting and heater options stretch the evening. On SkyLounge, the sides close for shade in summer and with glass panels in winter. The louvered series also take zip screens and sliding glass panels, while Elegant can have glass on its lower sides. We plan power and wiring up front, so the patio stays usable after sunset.
